The Nashville based group “The Barefoot Movement” will perform songs of the season from its holiday album as part of the Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts (RFA) On Stage 2019-2020 series. The concert will take place on Saturday, December 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.
“This talented group of acoustic musicians will put you in a festive holiday mood,” said Jamie Tucker, RFA president. “And yes, they do like to play without their shoes on, and encourage you to kick off yours as well.”
The Barefoot Movement is comprised of four musicians on fiddle, mandolin, guitar and upright bass, and led by talented singer-songwriter Noah Wall. They have been selected as showcase artists at the Americana Festival Conference and were named Band of the Year in 2014 by the International Bluegrass Music Association.
The group will perform some age-old classics, plus a number of pop songs of more recent vintage including “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas,” “Silver Bells,” “Run Run Rudolph,” “Christmas Time is Here,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Little St. Nick,” “Oh Holy Night,” and “I’ll be Home for Christmas.”
Advance tickets are $39 and may be purchased online at www.rappahannockfoundation.org or by calling the RFA office at 438-5555. Any remaining tickets will be $45 at the door.
The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts On Stage series is sponsored by Chesapeake Bank and Chesapeake Wealth Management. Additional funding is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
