Cub Scout Pack 341 news

Members of Cub Scout Pack 341 display the food they collected during the Scouting for Food program.

Cub Scout Pack 341 continues to be active and on the move. Last week they had three major events over the weekend. First, they walked the streets of Urbanna and collected canned food for the Scouting for Food program. This year they brought in over 500 pounds of canned goods. “We really appreciate all the kindness of the people in Urbanna and individuals that donated during the event,” said Event Committee Chair Clark Laster. “The kindness was overwhelming and the Scouts had a great time picking up the bags of canned goods.”

While some of the pack braved the streets of Urbanna the other half of the pack held a bake sale at the Deltaville Maritime Museum. They raised nearly $400 at the bake sale. “Special thanks goes out to the families that donated time and talent to the event,” mentioned Jaime Penn, Webelos Den Leader. “We are looking forward to continuing to work with the maritime museum and surrounding venues throughout the year.”

The final event the Scouts did over the weekend was work on their Christmas parade float. “We are moving on to the details, that is my favorite part,” said Christina Smith, float and fundraising chair. “Watching the kids’ expressions when they see the float makes it completely worth it.”
