Winner advances to state tournament

The Middlesex High School volleyball team defeated Colonial Beach 25-12, 25-11 and 25-19 in the quarterfinals of the Class 1 Region A Tournament on Monday, November 4. Middlesex, the top seed, defeated #8 Colonial Beach.
Middlesex will play #4 Northumberland on Thursday, November 7, at 6 p.m. in Saluda in the semifinals. “It should be a much tougher game,” said Lady Charger coach Brian Walton. “Northumberland has been playing pretty good of late.”
The winner of tonight’s game advances to the district finals (Nov. 12) and the state tournament quarterfinals (Nov. 16).
