The Middlesex High School (MHS) Chargers football team edged the King and Queen Central Royal Tigers 13-12 on October 30 to improve its record to 6-3.
Middlesex scored the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. Adam Smith scored on an 11-yard run and Aaron Akers delivered with the extra point to make the score 7-0.
The first half ended with the Chargers in the lead but just like the first time when MHS played King and Queen back in September, the Tigers came back in the second half. The Tigers defeated MHS earlier in the season.
The King and Queen quarterback helped the Chargers’ cause by throwing 3 interceptions and the Tigers also lost 2 fumbles. Middlesex had no interceptions, but lost the ball twice to fumbles.
The Chargers will finish off their season on Friday night, November 8, at Mathews High School. The game will start at 7 p.m.
