Marissa Halbig was crowned Queen of the 62nd Urbanna Oyster Festival and Adalyn Parsley was crowned Little Miss Spat at the Urbanna Firehouse on Friday, November 1.
As Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen, Halbig received a $5,000 college scholarship. Halbig also received $250 for the highest academic achievement award.
As Little Miss Spat, Adalyn Parsley received $150.
Samantha Wright was the Queen first runner-up and received a $3,750 college scholarship.
Abby Purcell was Queen second runner-up and received a $2,500 scholarship, and an additional $250 for having the best community service project.
Each year the Queen contestants choose a “most supportive” contestant. This year, Purcell and Amber Daughtry tied in the vote and each will receive $250.
The other queen contestants each received $1,000 scholarships. They include Katherine Campbell, Amber Daughtry, Danielle Jones and Caroline Painter.
In the Little Miss Spat competition, Ella Norris was first runner-up and received $100, and Sophia Watson was second runner-up and received $50. Other Little Miss Spat contestants included Madisyn Wade, Riley Prete, Skylar Beverley, Evelyn Vergara and Jillian Major.
