Middlesex High Key Club helps Hands

This past week the Food Pantry at Hands Across Middlesex had a problem: over 20,000 pounds of food was being delivered on Thursday and few regular volunteers were available. This was the result of moving the delivery from the pantry’s normal first Tuesday, when the Cryer Center would have to be restricted for the election (it is a polling station), and Urbanna Oyster Festival preparation for many of the pantry’s volunteers on the only other available delivery day. In stepped “Mrs. B” (Baltrusaitis) and members of the Middlesex High School Key Club (pictured unloading a pallet of peanut butter). The club came to the center and for the next two hours helped unload all 20,000 pounds of food. Hands Across Middlesex expresses it gratitude to the Key Clubbers for their help in a most needed time.
