‘One Community Under God’ brings together over 500 people

Well over 500 people came together as “One Community Under God” (OCUG) on Sunday, October 27, at the Urbanna Firehouse. Believers from many denominations joined together for prayer, music, singing, hearing truths from The Bible and sharing fellowship with a meal! And then the welcomed rains came!

“Members of 10 Middlesex County churches united their love of God, their time and talents, physical labor, preparation and serving food to share with all who came. They never tired but were energized as they served God for His people,” stated one OCUG spokesperson. The churches that co-hosted this year’s One Community Under God were Amburg Baptist, Antioch Baptist, Calvary Baptist, Christ Church Parish, Grafton Baptist, Immanuel Baptist, Mt. Zion Baptist, Remlik Wesleyan, Urbanna Baptist and Urbanna United Methodist.

Offerings that were given will directly benefit The Cryer Center’s WIN program and our county’s Virginia Rules program. If you would like to make a donation, write your check to Urbanna United Methodist Church with One Community Under God on the memo line. You may mail it to UUMC, P.O. Box 217, Urbanna, VA 23175. Your gift will specifically help children of Middlesex County.

We thank the sponsors that aided One Community Under God. They are Affordable Lawn Care, C&F Bank, Church View Septic, Shear Delight Hair Salon and Urbanna Market. We especially thank the Urbanna Firehouse crew for its support and help.
