Nellie Walton Blake, 87, passed peacefully October 4, 2019 in St. Petersburg, Florida, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a resident of Topping and Sandston before relocating to Florida in recent years.
Nellie was always a caregiver. She was a hard worker and rarely sat still. She was selfless and found great joy in serving and caring for others. She never met a stranger, always having a story or a joke to share. She cherished her time spent with friends and family.

She is survived by two children, Jackie Taylor (David) of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Robert Blake (Carolyn) of Suffolk; three brothers, James Lee Walton, William Walton and Lloyd Walton; sister, Rebecca Walden; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 11, at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Topping. Interment will be in the church cemetery with a reception to follow. Arrangements by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.
