Local band ‘Deadrise’ to play at Chesapeake Academy’s Oyster Roast

“Deadrise”

The word is out that Chesapeake Academy’s 18th Annual Community Oyster Roast will be one to remember: delicious roasted and fried oysters, great music, and dancing with the music of community favorite “Deadrise,” all wrapped in a spirit of friendship, fall, and fun you won’t forget!  Deadrise, known for Americana classics with a hometown vibe, is comprised of six old friends (five of the band members are dads/granddads—and all are friends of the school) who love music and play around the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. This popular band is known for danceable fan favorites and for sharing the stage with guest performers. The Chesapeake Academy’s Oyster Roast is the perfect forum for its brand of fun.

The all-inclusive menu includes all of the roasted and fried oysters you can eat, clam chowder, French fried sweet potatoes, hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixings, and dessert. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are included. You must be 21 to attend. Tickets are $60 per person in advance; $70 at the door—if available. The roast will be held on the school campus on Saturday, October 12, from 5 to 9 p.m. Proceeds benefit Chesapeake Academy’s academic and co-curricular programs and support financial assistance.

Raffle tickets can be purchased for a chance to win 1st prize, a $500 gift certificate to Tri-Star Supermarket; 2nd prize, a $250 gift card to Northern Neck Burger; and 3rd and 4th prizes, a $100 gift card to Great Fortune Restaurant. Raffle tickets are $5 each, 3 tickets for $10 ,or 18 tickets for $50.
