The Middlesex Chargers golf team battled the very talented King William Cavaliers twice, once on September 10 at Queenfield Plantation Golf Course, and again on September 12 at home at the Piankatank River Golf Course (PRGC) in Hartfield.
The Chargers came up short in both rounds by scores of 200-163 and 217-158.
On September 16, the Chargers faced off against Lancaster at PRGC and shot a team total 203 to the Red Devils’ 185. “They beat us by 50 strokes at their place a couple weeks ago,” noted Coach Harrow. “So it was a breath of fresh air to be within 18 strokes of them this round.”
For the Chargers, Lambert carded a 42, Wilson a 50, Sears a 53 and Daddario a 58. Also competing were Stamm and Moncrieff, who each carded 62s.
The Chargers will face off against Essex and King William in a 9-hole match on Thursday, September 19, at 4 p.m. at Hobbs Hole in Tappahannock.
