MHS girls volleyball team improves 6-1

The Middlesex Lady Charger varsity volleyball team improved to 6-1 on the season with recent wins over Lancaster, King William, Carver Academy, and King and Queen.

On September 11, Middlesex rallied after losing the first game 25-23 to Lancaster, and then swept the next three games, 25-19, 25-21 and 25-21.

Coach Brian Walton said Laura Walton “had one of her best games I have seen her play.” She hammered 21 kills, served 7 aces, and had 18 assists and 9 digs. “She put her team on her shoulders and willed us to the win!”

On September 10, Middlesex defeated King William in four games. King William won the third game 25-17, while Middlesex won the rest 25-19, 25-23 and 25-21.

Middlesex also swept Carver Academy on September 12.

The Lady Chargers defeated King and Queen on Tuesday, September 17.

The Lady Chargers JV and varsity volleyball teams are at Mathews on Thursday, September 19; will host Charles City on Tuesday, September 24; and are at West Point on Thursday, September 26. The JV plays at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity plays at 7 p.m.
