The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors presented a plaque of recognition to Middlesex County Deputy Sheriff Chelsi Blake for “perseverance and action beyond the call of duty on August 19, 2019.” When a man suffered a heart attack at Wake, Blake, off-duty, heard the 911 call and arrived at the house almost immediately. She administered CPR and used an AED defibrillator on the man. According to doctors at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital she saved the man’s life. “Her professionalism and accurate assessment of the situation saved my husband’s life,” his wife stated.
