The Rappahannock Industrial Academy Alumni Association recently held its annual banquet at Immanuel Baptist Church in Saluda. Alumni of the school were introduced and student winners of the RI Academy Scholarship were recognized. Alumni present were Lillian Hill McGuire, class of 1945; Atterista Levere, class of 1946; and Andrew Jackson White, class of 1948, who was the keynote speaker. Scholarship winners for 2019 are Minajhadore Redd of King and Queen, Micheal Veney of Middlesex, and Ratoria Lomax of Essex. Scholarship winners for 2018 whose scholarships were renewed are Breyona Harvey of King and Queen, Jordan Blake of Middlesex, and Mandy Byrd of Essex.
