Urbanna Baptist Day Care (UBDC) & Preschool is celebrating 38 years of providing care and preschool for community children. Urbanna Baptist Church approved the day care and preschool as a new ministry in July of 1981 and the initial day was September 14, 1981.
“The school has been held so dear to area families and continues to be so. Teachers, staff and directors have been very special in the lives of so many children and their parents!” said a church spokesperson.
Jane Folliard, aka Miss Jane, has served as the day care and preschool director for 33 years and has retired as of July 2019. On Sunday, September 15, Miss Jane and quite a number of former and present staff will be recognized at the 11 a.m. service at Urbanna Baptist Church with a light luncheon to follow. If you have had children in the UBDC center, please join us and bring those “kids!” no matter how big they are. There will be hugs for all! Photographs from years gone by will also be on display!
