Philippi Christian Church this week thanked all the children and parents who made its recent Vacation Bible School (VBS) such a success.
“We had over 30 children participate,” said a VBS spokesperson. “We had a delightful night at the pool and our theme was “Water, Wonder and Worship.” We taught about God and creation of the water, Noah and the Ark, Moses and the splitting of the Red Sea, Jonah and the Whale and Jesus stills the storm on waters. There were music, lessons, crafts and watermen who came to speak each night. Dinner time was a delight and everyone became friends quickly. Oh what fun it was.
We can’t forget to also thank the many church members who helped and those who helped with dinner. And of course, we ended with a graduation with cake and ice cream.”
Philippi’s weekly youth groups will start up again on Sunday, September 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. Like the Vacation Bible School structure, youth groups include music, lessons, crafts, games and a meal. Age groups are: junior youth fellowship, grades 1-6; and Christian youth fellowship, grades 7-12.
“Please join us as we grow,” said the spokesperson.
