Jeanie Brooks Whiting, 75, of Urbanna passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 after a long illness. Born July 12, 1944, she was a lifelong resident of Remlik/Urbanna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew T. Whiting; and her parents, Nannie Laura Brooks and William (Willie) H. Brooks.
Left to cherish her memories are her three children, Patricia Carter, Melinda (Greg) Cary, and Andrew (Lindsay) Whiting; five grandchildren, Jasmine, JaLisa, Chris, Eric and Tiffany, and two great-grandchildren Jayden and Amiyah.
She is also survived by three sisters, Shirley Marshall, Carolyn Grice and Delores (Granville) Lee; two brothers, Archie (Maryann) Brooks and William (Hannelore) Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The viewing and funeral will be held on Sunday, August 18, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1359 General Puller Hwy., Saluda. The viewing will commence at 3 p.m. and the funeral will follow at 4 p.m.
