Fall Farmers Market in Urbanna Saturday

image
Fresh produce and meats are not the only things one can find at the Urbanna Farmers Market. There also are a variety of arts, crafts, clothes and more.

“The Urbanna Farmers Market has enjoyed a fantastic summer run,” said committee chair Beth Justice during a recent planning meeting. Indeed it has! Vendor participation is up, visitor numbers are up, and the weather has been just about perfect all season. The decision to extend the market to October was an easy one, so expect all sorts of things to do, see and buy this Saturday, October 14, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Taber Park.

Along with local vendors that will display and sell their seasonal produce, organic beef, cheeses, honey, art and soft goods, the market will include Re-Re’s food truck, music by acoustic guitarist George Throckmorton, and a fun pumpkin painting area for kids and adults. Pumpkins are $1 each and art supplies will be supplied.

Please join us this Saturday at the park for a happy ending to the 2017 Urbanna Farmers Market season as we get in the fall spirit of Halloween (costumes welcome) and the beginning of cooler weather and the changing of the leaves. Want more information? Call the Urbanna Town office at 758-2613.
