Concert donations to aid rebuilding of St. Paul’s BC

February 15 at the Middle School

by Larry Chowning –

“The devil wanted it for bad; but God made it for good!”

These are the words of Rev. Kenneth Dunn as St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Jamaica is being rebuilt after the 147-year old church building was destroyed by a suspected arson fire on November 17, 2018.

“We have not lost our church; we have lost a building,” said Rev. Dunn. “The church is God and the people who worship him. The building can be rebuilt.”

The new church building is scheduled to be completed in July but funding is needed to finish the project. The old church building was partially insured. Insurance did not cover the contents of the building and installation of a new drain field, said Rev. Dunn.

To help the cause, Christ Church Parish will sponsor a “Share the Love Concert” on Saturday, February 15, from 3-5 p.m. in the St. Clare Walker Middle School auditorium at Locust Hill to raise money to go toward rebuilding of the church.
